About Lilia Moncada-Palazuelos

Dr. Lilia Moncada-Palazuelos earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Sydney after completing a Master of Science in Integrative Pathobiology and dual bachelor’s degrees in Animal Science and Spanish at the University of California, Davis. Her professional journey has taken her through emergency and specialty hospitals in both the United States and Australia, where she developed a strong foundation in emergency and critical care, anesthesia, surgery, and patient management. She is also fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to connect with a diverse community of pet owners.

Dr. Moncada-Palazuelos has a special passion for emergency and critical care, where she enjoys helping patients through some of their most challenging moments. She has contributed to veterinary research as a co-author of a peer-reviewed publication on canine cartilage tissue engineering and has presented her work at international veterinary conferences. She is committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and values clear communication with clients, ensuring families feel informed and supported while making important decisions about their pets’ care.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Moncada-Palazuelos enjoys continuing to explore new ways to improve patient care in regions where veterinary care is scarce and demographically difficult to attain. She’s especially interested in finding or creating practical yet compassionate solutions when surgery, or “gold-standard” integrative medicine are financially unattainable for clients and the animals they love. Above all, she is dedicated to treating every patient with compassion, respect, and the individualized care they deserve while helping families navigate emergency situations with empathy and transparency.
